Alloy 200 is a Commercially Pure Nickel Alloy developed to work in environments where sodium hydroxide and fluorine is used.
Nickel 200 is a 99.6% pure wrought nickel alloy, being one of the toughest metals. Nickel Alloy 200 sold under the brand names Alloy 200, Ni-200, Commercially Pure Nickel and Low Alloy Nickel. Alloy 200 exhibits good corrosion resistance and has rather low electrical resistivity, unique magnetic and magnetostrictive properties, High thermal and electrical conductivities, Low gas content, Low vapor pressure, etc. Nickel Alloy 200 is highly resistant to corrosion by neutral and alkaline salt solutions. Nickel 200 is useful in any environment below 600º F. Alloy 200 can be hot formed to any shape and formed cold by all methods. Alloy 200 is used in caustic solutions, food handling equipment, and general corrosion-resistant parts and structures in order to maintain the purity of their product. As Ni-200 contains magnetic and mechanical properties, it can be used in devices that require magnetic actuated parts. Alloy 200 can be hot rolled into practically any shape, and it also responds well cold forming, and machining, as long as established practices are followed. Nickel 200 also resist most conventional welding, brazing, and soldering processes.
