Slip On Flange or Hubbed Flange or SO Flange, has a diameter slightly larger than the pipe so that it can slide over the pipe to fit snugly. Though SO Flange are thinner than most other flanges, they are strong, dependable, and cost-effective. Slip On Flange OR SO Flange Or Hubbed Flange usually have a neck and have a straight bore that the pipe will pass completely through. As made obvious by their name, Slip On Flange slip over the pipe. Hubbed Flange or Slip On Flange or SO Flange manufactured with an inside diameter that is slightly bigger than the pipe's outside diameter. These attachments are connected to the pipe via fillet weld at the top and bottom of the flange. SO Flange are typically provided with a raised or flat face. When a raised face is necessary for slip on pipe flanges, the standard height is 1/16" for SO Flange under 400#. For Slip On Flange of 400# and up, the standard Slip On Flange raised face height is 1/4".

Hubbed Flange is essentially a ring that is placed over the pipe end, with the flange face extending from the end of the pipe by enough distance to apply a weld bead on the inside diameter. The OD of Hubbed Flange is also welded on the back side of the flange. SO Flange have a lower material cost than Slip On Flange and are more easily aligned. Slip On Flange may also be used a lap joint flanges if Type B or Type C stub ends are used. Slip On Flange or Hubbed Flange are commonly lower in price than weld-neck flanges, and to this effect are a popular choice for our customers.
