Hastelloy C276 Sheet Plate is supplied by Mumbadevi Steel India (MSI) at reasonabe prices. We are a global exporter of ASTM B575 UNS N10276. With almost 50 years in the business, we can offer the finest expertise to build practically any type of metal, alloys or steel. All of our manufactured products are subject to the rigirous audit process, which allow us to deliver quality products that meet customer requirements at low cost.

Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. It is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from the metal sheet. Plate and sheet are words used to describe the classification of metal depending on its thickness. While sheet metal is less than 3 mm thick, plate metal is obviously thicker than 3 mm. Alloy Plate is used in heavy-duty applications such as those found in the aerospace, military and transportation product manufacturing. Aluminium plate, machined to shape, forms the skins of jets and spacecraft fuel tanks, etc. It is used for storage tanks in many industries, in part because some aluminium alloys become tougher at supercold temperatures. This property is especially useful in holding cryogenic (very-low-temperature) materials.

Hastelloy Plate is also used to manufacture structural sections for railcars and ships, as well as armour for military vehicles. In transportation, the metal sheets are used to manufacture panels for automobile bodies and tractor trailers. In building and construction, it is formed into products including siding, gutters, roofing, awnings and carports. Hastelloy Sheet Plates are further categorised in following forms:

Hastelloy Sheet: If a piece of metal has been rolled out to a thickness greater than that of a foil, but is still less than 6mm it is called sheet.

Hastelloy Shim Sheet: A shim is thin and often tapered or wedged piece of metal. Shim Sheet is used to fill small gaps or spaces between objects. Sheet Shims are typically used in order to support, adjust for better fit, or provide a level surface.

Hastelloy Rolled Sheet Coil: Sheet Coils are flat products wound into rolls and having a rectangular cross-section, the width of which is much larger than the thickness. Hot Rolled Sheet Coil is produced from semifinished products (slabs or billets), which are reduced to certain thicknesses by rolling and annealing and wound into a roll. Cold Rolled Sheet Coil is produced by removing rust from a hot-rolled sheet by "pickling" it in a weak acid solution, then washing, brushing, drying, oiling and unrolling the sheet and finally performing cold-rolling by passing the sheet through a reducing mill under pressure and winding it into a roll. Cold-rolled steel Coil is a more highly finished product and has a smoother surface, greater dimensional accuracy (thickness, width, length) and greater strength.

Hastelloy Rolled Sheet Strips: Sheet Strip is a flat product which, immediately after the final rolling pass or after pickling or continuous annealing is wound into laps so as to form a coil. Strip of Sheet as rolled has slightly convex edges, but it may also be supplied with sheared edges or slit from a wider strip. Wide Strip is a strip of a width 600 mm or over, Whereas, Narrow Strip is a strip of a width less than 600 mm.

Hastelloy Plate: Once the metal is more than 6mm thick it is known as plate metal. This type of material is used in circumstances whereby strength and durability are of the utmost importance.

Hastelloy Diamond Plate: Diamond plate, also known as a chequered plate, thread plate and floor plate, is a type of metal designed with a regular pattern of raised diamonds or lines on one side, with the reverse side being featureless. Diamond plate is usually stainless steel or alloy.

Properties of Hastelloy C276 alloy

Hastelloy C276 Cold Forming

Annealed treatment is followed for every forming operations. For cold deformation at high-level, cold forming is done for the deformation process where cracking is a possibility because of mild forming. The cold forming process is used to restore the resistance to stress corrosion cracking. For most of the time, a solution anneal is recommended after the complete formed or annealed operation which helps to restore the material to its optimum condition and properties.

Hastelloy C276 Hot Forming

Hastelloy C276 can be hot-worked into various forms but they are more sensitive to the amounts and rates of hot-reduction with the austenitic stainless steels. During Hot working, all parameters should be taken into account. Special attention should be given to the temperature at which the alloy begins to melt. The high strengths of the Hastelloys at elevated temperature, their low thermal conductivity, and their hardening rate. Moreover, when the temperature is low in the hot working range of the metal, they are resistance to deformation is increased rapidly. So, while hot working practices that give heavy initial reduction followed by moderate final reductions, also with frequent re-heating gives the good result.

Hastelloy C276 Machining

Hastelloy C276 can be machined using conventional production methods at satisfactory rates. During the machining processes these alloys work harden rapidly, generate high heat during cutting, weld to the cutting tool surface and offer high resistance to metal removal because of their high shear strengths. Following are key points that should be considered during machining operations: Capacity, Tooling, Lubrication/Coolants, Drilling. The actual operating parameters are to serve only as a guide and are not to be taken as absolute values.

Hastelloy C276 Welding

Gas tungsten-arc welding, gas metal-arc welding, shielded metal-arc (coated electrode) welding, or resistance welding may be used. Minimum heat input consistent with adequate penetration reduces the chance of hot-cracking. Oxyacetylene welding should be avoided due to possibility of carburization. Hastelloy C-276 can be used in the as-welded condition in most chemical and petrochemical process equipment

Hastelloy C276 Heat Treatment

Wrought forms of Hastelloy C-276 are furnished in the solution heat-treated condition unless otherwise specified. Alloy C-276 is normally solution heat-treated at 2050 °F and rapid quenched. Parts which have been hot-formed should be solution heat-treated prior to final fabrication or installation, if possible
